HEALTH & WELLNESS

Through the universal language of DANCE and quality teaching, World of Happiness will share the multiple health benefits of dance to participants of any age. Research has found that dance is one of the best ways to improve physically, mentally, and socially.

How it works

We provide you with instructors to teach either at your facility or at our studio. The cost of each lesson will be at a minimum charge or at no cost if we receive sufficient funding to support the program. If we teach at your facility, please note that we will need floor space for at least 20 people on the dance floor, approximately 25 x 25 feet or more. A wood floor is preferable. Each class runs for 45 minutes. Date and time are totally up to you!

For People with Health Issues

Benefits & philosophy

  • Dancing regularly strengthens your physical body.
  • Stronger muscles enhance the quality of everyday life.
  • Better balance and strength can reduce the risk of falling
  • Greater confidence performing activities can help put your loved ones' minds at ease.

About OUR program

Dance has been shown to improve muscle function in both older people and those who may suffer from a degenerative disorder (such as Parkinson’s). It can be frustrating to lose ability and need to re-learn simple daily tasks, which unfortunately is often the case for the elderly or impaired.

Ballroom dance instruction focuses on balance and stability in a way that is enjoyable, translating to functional skills that enhance everyday life, including the reduced risk of falling.

With greater muscle control and strength, people will become more confident moving through normal tasks.

This improvement eases the minds of the impaired, as well as their family members who may worry about them.

For Recovery and Rehabilitation Centers

Benefits & philosophy

  • Movement in dance can assist in injury prevention and recovery.
  • Ballroom dancing works all muscles to build strength!
  • Dancing increases positive mood levels which have been affected by injury or other limitations.
  • Participants can rehabilitate in a fun way.

About OUR program

Injury limitations affect those of all ages and from all walks of life. Along with other treatment, ballroom dance helps recovering people to get back on their feet.

With enough practice, dancing re-trains muscles that have been out of use. Classes are taught at whatever pace is most comfortable for the student's ability, so there is no need to worry about overextension. Movement can be introduced incrementally according to ability!

Strengthening muscle conditions while learning does wonders for cultivating a positive attitude and may even speed up recovery time.

For People Working on Weight Management

Benefits & philosophy

  • Ballroom dancing is an enjoyable activity for controlling your weight and keeping trim.
  • Dancing can reduce the risk of heart disease, improving cardiovascular health.
  • Dancing releases endorphins to keep your mind and body happier!
  • Increased confidence develops once overall health improves.

About OUR program

Ballroom dancing is a cardiovascular fat-burning activity that can help people lose weight. It’s also much more fun and versatile than simply running on a stationary machine!

The same people who struggle with motivating themselves to go to the gym may find they are excited to attend dance class, which makes melting off the pounds that much easier.

The health benefits of being at a healthy weight are extraordinary: reduced risk of heart disease, improved cholesterol levels, and overall better mood are just some of the benefits.
